Thomas Paycocke Chapter 8200
In 1983 several members of Thomas Paycocke Lodge got together to discuss the forming of a new Lodge in Braintree. Following several meetings and much deliberation it was decided to form a chapter attached to the Lodge instead. More meetings and deliberations, then took place and the required petitions having been made during 1984 enabling Supreme Grand Chapter to issue our Charter on 13th February 1985.
The Consecration took place at The Howard Hall, Braintree, on Thursday 3rd October 1985. It was conducted by the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent F W R Leistikow, MA. shortly before his retirement. He was assisted by the Deputy Grand Superintendent E.Comp. G Y German along with E.Comp. K C Brown, Second Provincial Grand Principal and E.Comp. C W Key, Third Provincial Grand Principal also with other members of the Provincial Executive. In addition to the Consecration Officers there were present twelve Founding Members and seventy-one visiting Companions in total.
During, the early days we were greatly helped by the Chapter of Saint Mary No. 1312 who also meet here, in the use of some of their furniture and regalia and when required advice which we will always be grateful. It is true to say that considerable friendly rivalry which developed in the early days still continues.
Thomas Paycocke Chapter uses Domatic ritual, meets at 18.00 hrs three times on the second Thursday in February, May and our Installation is in October.
