Langthorne Lodge 1421
The Langthorne Lodge is descended ultimately from the Union Waterloo Lodge No. 13. Sponsored by Capper Lodge No. 1076, it received its warrant of constitution on 2 November 1872 and was consecrated on 12 December the same year. Its first meeting place was the Swan Hotel, Stratford, East London, and it continued to meet in East London sites, and later at Freemasons Hall. It moved to Braintree in 1986. The Lodge meets six times a year at the Braintree Masonic Centre, commonly known as the Howard Hall, on the first Thursday of February (Installation), April, May, October, November and December. The name of the Lodge derives from the ancient district of Stratford Langthorne in East London.
